Crest Robotics Charlotte

Robotic building on Earth and the Moon

A new robotic creation has been developed to address the challenges of housing shortages and the need for sustainable construction on Earth and in space in the future.

Created by Crest Robotics in collaboration with Earthbuilt Technology, Charlotte is a spider-like robot designed as an autonomous modern builder for challenging environments.

Charlotte combines Crest Robotics’ advanced automation with Earthbuilt Technology’s extrusion and compaction systems to build a 200-square-meter home in just one day with near-zero emissions.

It uses locally sourced materials, including sand, earth, and even crushed brick waste, which could be an innovative solution for traditional construction.

Beyond possibly solving the housing problem, Charlotte is also designed for deployment on the Moon, enabling faster and autonomous construction for lunar exploration.

Crest Robotics is seeking partners to test, refine, and scale this groundbreaking technology. The project was showcased at the 76th International Astronautical Congress in Sydney in September 2025.
