The Global Exposome Summit 2026: How will it lead to better health?
Partilhar
The Global Exposome Summit is one of the most important scientific events of the year for public health and environmental studies.
The 2026 edition will focus on studies of the human exposome, exploring how environmental exposures affect health throughout life until death, and driving scientific research to advance new initiatives worldwide.
In order to overcome the obstacles that researchers face when supporting these initiatives, the International Human Exposome Network (IHEN) and the Global Exposome Forum (GEF) have joined forces to host the 2026 Global Exposome Summit.
Researchers, policymakers, industry representatives, funders and other stakeholders who are working to advance human health through exposome research and practice will be brought together in this event.

Addresses critical issues
The event is generating significant interest as it addresses critical issues on the current global agenda.
Climate Action: One of the keynote speakers will discuss how climate change policies can directly improve population health.
Microplastics: This year, the forum is placing special emphasis on the relationship between the exposome and microplastics, a highly relevant topic for those seeking to reduce toxins in their homes.
Precision medicine: Discussions will include how high-resolution chemical analysis can predict diseases before symptoms appear based on a person's environment.
Biological ageing: Presentations will explore how genetic and environmental factors interact to accelerate or delay ageing.

Why is this relevant?
This event is important because it helps to shape urban health policies and inform how cities should be designed to reduce the burden of disease.
The findings can also be translated into recommendations on non-toxic building materials and indoor air quality, as well as providing strategic content for articles and campaigns on well-being based on scientific findings.
